Shalom!
Our kibbutzim are happy to accept tourists as volunteers provided that:

1. There are available places at the time of arrival.
2. You come for a MINIMUM of TWO MONTHS and a MAXIMUM of SIX MONTHS
3. You are between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
4. You are in good mental and physical health.
5. You speak a reasonable level of English

On a kibbutz, you will work eight hours a day, six days a week, and have three extra days off per month. You must be prepared to do any kind of work allotted to you by the work manager. The work may be in agriculture, in industry, in tourism or kibbutz services. The kibbutz is a close-knit unit with self-supporting services. A large percentage of the volunteers work in the services. The choice of jobs available depends on the kibbutz, the season, the volunteer’s skills and the length of his/her stay.

The kibbutz provides rooms (two to three people per room). We cannot promise immediate placement to couples wishing to live together. Meals are eaten in the communal dining room. Laundry service is provided. Volunteers receive monthly pocket money. The kibbutz does not cover travelling expenses.
The kibbutz movement cannot accept individuals or couples with children or expectant mothers.
The best time to arrive is during the months September-May

If you come from a country where pre issued entry visa is required please contact the nearest Israeli consulate for requirements. The Kibbutz Program Center has no authority from the Ministry of the Interior to issue personal invitations for the sake of entering Israel. The volunteers enter Israel as tourists and according to the requirements of the Ministry of Interior, they must change their legal status to a volunteer’s visa within two weeks of their arrival in the kibbutz.

It is advised to bring a medical certificate, which states that you are both physically and mentally fit - the kibbutzim have the right to ask you to undergo an Aids test on arrival. You will be required to purchase our health insurance for a fee of $60. The insurance is valid for a whole year, and it is especially designed for the volunteer program, covering all kinds of emergency medicine i.e. hospitalization, ambulances, emergency rooms etc.

Please inform us of your date of arrival (by fax or E-Mail) including your:
  • Full name and date of birth
  • Passport number and Nationality
  • Father’s name and occupation

Upon arrival in Israel, come to our office at the above address to register for placement on kibbutz. Please bring with you:
  1. Passport.
  2. Medical certificate.
  3. 80US$ for our especially designed kibbutz volunteer health Insurance policy.
  4. Return ticket.
  5. At least $250. We don’t take this from you. We just want to know you have some money.
  6. 60US$ registration fee.
  7. 17 US$ and 2 passport photos for the visa status change.

Our office is open from Sunday to Thursday, 8.00 - 14.00.

We look forward to meeting you soon! Rina Keren and staff, Kibbutz Program Center
